Description

The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) is seeking an experienced professional to lead its Consumer Protection Division (CPD).  The CPD is responsible for regulating the fair trade in goods and services between customers and businesses when the purchases are for personal, household or family use. This includes market regulation, sector-specific business and salesperson licensing, complaint investigation, education initiatives, and enforcement action. The division also supports the Film Classification Office and oversees the Funeral and Cremation Services Council.

Reporting to the Chair and CEO of the FCAA, you will:
- Provide strategic direction to the team in the administration of eleven Acts and Regulations associated with consumer protection;
- Lead the development of policies and practices so that the regulatory framework for consumer transactions is current and appropriate for the marketplace; and
- Participate in the development and implementation of the FCAA strategic plan as a senior member of the FCAA management team.

We are looking for a senior leader with technical, management and leadership experience. The successful candidates must bring the experience and breadth of knowledge necessary to succeed in the position. Typically, the technical skills required for this position would be obtained through a business, accounting or legal background along with several years of progressive experience in the public sector.  An alternative combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal record check.

We wish to express our appreciation to all applicants for their interest and effort in applying for this position.  However, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
