Description

Seasonal Equipment Operator - Compaction

The position of Compaction Operator requires an individual who is flexible, positive, and self- motivated. The Compaction operator reports to the onsite foreman and ensures the proper equipment inspections are being completed and any deficiencies are reported swiftly. They are able to work across the province of Saskatchewan for 12+ hours a day in a 10-on and 4-off shift pattern (subject to change from time to time). It is preferable to have a background in paving, and some equipment operation. The typical paving season runs until mid - late October.

Qualifications
Valid Class 5 Drivers License
HJR Asphalt Power Mobile Equipment Operator Certificate (will train)
Comfortable operating compaction equipment (preferable)
Comfortable operating other heavy equipment such as the skid steer, packer, broom, loader (not necessary)
Ability to work independently
Good communication skills
Physically and mentally fit

Duties and Responsibilities
Report to the site foreman
Perform daily safety inspections (circle checks) on equipment
Perform daily maintenance on equipment
Operate all equipment in a safe manner as per OHS legislation
Partake in training as requested by the company
Strict adherence to the company safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Manual
Participate in the company safety program
Assists crew with other duties as necessary including hand work (shoveling, raking), traffic control, cleaning, and various tasks as necessary
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
    
Must be willing to travel
Must be willing to work overtime and weekends
