Description

Saskatoon Housing Initiatives Partnership is a community-based organization providing leadership, and resources towards ending homelessness in Saskatoon.  As the Community Entity for Canada's Reaching Home strategy, the organization is also administering Reaching Home funding.
The Homelessness Action Plan Manager is responsible for analyzing and monitoring trends in addressing homelessness at the local, regional, and national levels, along with the development, implementation, evaluation, and leadership of projects funded under the Reaching Home funding stream.   The primary focus of the position is to raise the profile of homelessness and promote collaborative strategies to end it.  The Homelessness Action Plan Manager manages a broad spectrum of committees, events, and community activities.
This position reports to the Executive Director and is a member of the senior leadership team. This position interacts with external stakeholders such as media, government representatives, agencies, committees, contractors, and industry professionals to support the success of the Plan.
Required qualifications
    A University Degree in Social work, Social Sciences, Human Services, or a related field with five years of related work experience.
    Working knowledge of community issues such as homelessness, colonization, poverty reduction
    Extensive experience in project analysis, monitoring and evaluation
    Ability to establish and maintain relationships with the Indigenous community, community groups and organizations serving the Saskatoon Indigenous population.
    Experience working with Indigenous Clients and awareness and sensitivity to Indigenous issues, communities, values, traditions, cultural norms, and practices
    Demonstrated understanding of homelessness as experienced by Indigenous peoples, including local, regional, and national contexts and trends.
    Proven experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with formal and informal partners.
