Description

The City of Humboldt is currently seeking a full-time Water and Wastewater Supervisor in the Public Works and Utilities Department. The employee in this position will provide active daily technical direction, supervision and accountability for process control decision(s) of a facility, or major segment of a facility, that directly impact(s) public health or the environment. This person shall be designated as carrying Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) serving the Public Water, Sewer Dist. Collection, and Treatment facilities.

The individual in this role must exhibit excellent communication skills (written and verbal), good documentation skills, knowledge of water, wastewater, and repair techniques. The candidate must promote and enforce safe working conditions, conduct safety meetings and be able to identify potential safety hazards. The person must be able to accept direction, delegate, remain calm during emergency or stressful situations. The person must be observant to identify, track, prioritize and coordinate failures or deficiencies in the network. The candidate must be able to physically perform assigned duties which may include enclosed spaces, outdoor conditions and working alone. The candidate should be able to recognize and possess strong interpersonal and leadership abilities with emphasis on possessing a positive and cooperative attitude. Ability to understand varying personalities and effectively inspire the best performance from each individual on the team. The individual should have the ability to apply conflict resolution techniques and can teach/show/instruct others to ensure work is being done in an efficient and safe manner.

3 to 5 yrs of relatable experience; lead or supervisory experience preferred. Grade 12 or GED. Sask Operator Cert. Board Requirements: WT1, WD2, WWT2, WWC2. Class 5 drivers license. $28.97/hour (2019 Rates) CUPE Local 2359.
