Description

We currently have a Finance Manager position to join our team on a Full-time basis. The Finance Manager will provide strategic financial information to Program managers for the sustainable operation of Piapot First Nation strategic goals. As the Finance Manager you will build, sustain and be responsible for the capacity of the finance department through the establishment, monitoring and improvement of accounting and finance systems, controls and policies and procedures.  The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions and supervising all accounting duties: accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliations and payroll functions.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:      

    The applicant must have a combination of hands on practical skills as well as management and leadership experience
    Lead audit preparation and serve as the primary point of contact with auditors; Monitor, review, implement and update financial control policies, procedures and processes
    Provide leadership in overall financial planning including preparing for and facilitating annual operating programs, capital and construction budgets and forecasting processes
    Prepare, monitor and present/submit required financial reports
    Manage the delivery of PFN programs and services through the development of proposals for program funding and ensure funds are expended appropriately and are within budget
    Ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders including band members, while responding with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy
    Coordinate annual budgets with PFN Program Managers
    Monitor purchasing, tendering and other financial transactions                      

The Finance Manager must have ten years related work experience and three to five years management experience. Experience working with First Nations organizations and Funding Agreements is a definite asset
