We are looking for after school students to fill 2 vacant spots at our facility. There will be a rotation of 3 days one week and 2 the next to ensure time for other extra curricular activities you may have. You need to be 16 years of age and acquire a clean criminal record check.
When working with us we will require you to complete the following tasks;
-Walk school aged children to daycare from the school at the start of your shift every day.
-Help develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
-Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
-Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
-Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with the director and or other staff members
-Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
-Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
-May assist in planning and organizing of activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
-May supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and director.
If you are chosen for this position you may be able to fill a full time summer student position starting July 2021. With this being said there is also future opportunity for class funding for an Early Learning and Child Educator Certificate through Saskpolytechnic.
