General Duties & Responsibilities
Rigging new boats, install outboard motors and connect harness's and controls, install electronics including sonar (including custom installs into dashes), install the following: stereo, additional gauges, onboard battery chargers, electric bow trolling motors 12volt - 36 volt systems, boat windshields, install other accessories like fishing rod holders, rock guards, spare tires and load guides
Test run up of new motors
Perform a pre delivery checklist of motor and boat
Read and write repair orders
Look up parts
Operate diagnostic equipment, testing equipment, and hand and power tools associated with marine engine and equipment repair.
Install, repair, replace, and maintain all mechanical aspects of boats
Perform tune ups, oil changes, winterization
Liaise with team members to ensure priorities are clear, service orders are accurate and parts ordered and supplies are properly invoiced
Do touch-up painting
Set up new boats and trailers
Adjust axels
Torque wheels
Repack wheel bearings
Inspect brakes.
Perform some electrical wiring
Ensure tarps fit properly
Clean boats
Other duties as assigned
Education
High school diploma, or equivalent
Motor Mechanic courses are an asset
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in the marine industry
Journey person marine mechanic with current certification in mercury cruiser and mercury outboards
Licenses and Certifications
A valid Saskatchewan drivers license
Valid boaters license
Mercury inboard and outboard certification is an asset
Knowledge & Training
Basic working knowledge of computers
Working knowledge of boats and related products
