CHEP Good Food is a non-profit organization based in Saskatoon with a mission to work with children, families and community members towards improved access to healthy fresh food and food skills.
CHEP is looking to hire a full-time Food Access Coordinator to work as part of the team delivering our Good Food Box and Community Fresh Food Markets programs.
The Good Food Box is a community-based food distribution system that provides Saskatoon and area households with an alternative way to get top-quality, fresh produce at affordable prices. CHEP purchases fruit and vegetables in bulk from local producers and wholesalers, and every two weeks a team of volunteers come together to pack a variety of boxes which are then sent out to neighbourhood depots across the city for pickup. CHEPs Community Fresh Food Markets bring healthy food to neighbourhoods in Saskatoon where access to affordable fruits and vegetables is limited.
The Food Access Coordinator will be a dedicated, organized and highly motivated individual with an appreciation for the importance of healthy food and the complexities around food security. They will have the ability to work cooperatively with the team, community partners, community members and community volunteers. They will have energy and passion, great interpersonal and time-management skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage logistics in a challenging environment.
They must have strong computer skills and experience in Excel, Power Point, Desktop Publishing and Social Media, and be an excellent communicator (both verbal and written). They must have physical ability and be ready to lift up to 40-50 lbs on a regular basis.
Please note that only those applicants shortlisted for an interview will be contacted. We thank all applicants for their interest in working with CHEP Good Food.
