Description

General Description;
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Community program co-ordinator will complement the growing programs/services that SIMFC host daily. This individual will work from 10 am to 6pm daily

Duties & Responsibilities;
To plan, organize, direct community programs and events. Community programming will include co-ordinating events for Elders, children, families and other community based partnerships.
Proposal writing is a key area of responsibility with the goal of creating new and exciting opportunities for the centre and its membership.
Contribute to the development  of new ideas, work procedures and methods which promote elder, youth, children and family participation at SIMFC.
Participate in any/all funding initiatives, events of SIMFC
Ensure projects adhere to contribution agreements and all documentation is maintained.
Assess project risks and issues with the goal of providing solutions were applicable.
Be responsible for supervising and maintaining a safe environment within SIMFC
Carry out other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Skills & Requirements;
Must have as a minimum Grade 12, or post secondary diploma/degree
Proposal writing is an asset
Supervisory/management experience
Aboriginal candidates preferred (First Nation, Inuit, Metis) please identify on your application/ cover letter.
Ability to communicate information accurately, concisely, both orally and in writing
Experience with computers
Knowledge of the Aboriginal community
Some experience in cooking and janitorial fields
