Allied Health Care diploma plus Polysomnography certificate
Certified by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists
Registered with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists

ACTIVITIES & ABILITIES SPECIFIC TO SASKATOON HEALTH REGION:   MINIMUM TWO YEARS OF POST-SECONDARY TRAINING IN A HEALTH SCIENCES DISCIPLINE. WILLING TO COMPLETE PSG CERTIFICATION WITHIN TWO YEARS OF OBTAINING THE POSITION. DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY AND AS PART OF A TEAM. ABILITY TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN SATISFACTORY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER EMPLOYEES, CLIENTS AND OTHER HOSPITAL DEPARTMENTS AND THE ABILITY TO INTERVIEW/ASSESS/SCREEN PATIENTS. DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO RECOGNIZE PATIENT SYMPTOMS AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION. ABILITY TO MAINTAIN AND UPDATE PATIENT CHARTS, RECOGNIZING CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION. ABILITY TO MAKE DECISIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH DEPARTMENTAL, DIVISIONAL AND SASKATOON HEALTH REGION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO WORK WITH A VARIETY OF ELECTRONIC MONITORING EQUIPMENT. REQUIRES CPR LEVEL C.
