The Saskatoon Downtown Youth Centre Inc. - EGADZ requires Youth Workers and individuals interested in a Full Time Youth Worker Position in the Drop In Centre
EGADZ is an inter-agency, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide services for hard to serve youth in Saskatoon with the mission to encourage and support them to make choices that improve their quality of life. This position is within EGADZ Youth Centre for the Drop-In Centre Program. Responsibilities include Facilitating the daily operations of the Center while assisting the youth who access services. Responsibilities vary from building trusting relations with youth to advocating and providing immediate services for the youth including nutrition, clothing, referring the youth to applicable resources within the community. The ideal candidate will be able to organize and participate in sport, recreation and cultural activities with the youth both in the centre and in the community. Qualifications: Post secondary education in the human services field, equivalent experience or a combination of both
Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with youth, staff and partnering agencies and maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form Working knowledge of computers/windows Knowledge of Aboriginal cultures and issues Must have a valid drivers license that reflects a safe driving record - A Driver's Abstract is Required. Criminal records Check Ability to work shift work is a must-days/evenings/weekends
Salaries are based on EGADZ current salary grid. $18.07-19.62 per hour.
