Job Title:        Library Assistant - Blocks

Job Classification:    Library Assistant III

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Library Director, this position is primarily responsible for the rotation and maintenance of the rural branch collection and supporting rural programming initiatives.  As a valued member of the Headquarters team, the position performs other technical duties as assigned and will receive cross-training to cover other Headquarters positions that ensure the provision of a seamless level of support to our regional branches. Required:
    Completion of Grade 12.
    Strong computer and keyboarding skills.
    Experience using MS Office software.
    Ability to adapt quickly to new programs, procedures, and operational demands.
    Strict attention to detail.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Demonstrated ability to work independently.
    Ability to lift and carry library materials weighing up to 15 kilograms on a daily basis.
    Ability to reach a range of shelves between 5 cm and 200 cm above floor.
    Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License with Abstract.
    Criminal Record Check current within 2 years.

Preferred:
    Completion of Library Technician Diploma.
    Experience with the cataloguing and circulation modules of an integrated library system.
    Experience with collection development.
    Experience with the development and implementation of branch programming.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Wage: $15.91 per CUPE Local # 3077 Collective Agreement
