OVERVIEW:
Northbound Planning Ltd. is looking for Building Official consultants across Saskatchewan to partner with the company to provide Building Official services to membership municipalities. Northbound is currently contracted to work with over 60 municipalities located across Saskatchewan, and we are looking to partner with helpful and reliable Building Officials to better service our clients.

Northbound Planning is a private company operating in Saskatchewan that provides municipal consulting services to predominately municipalities in Saskatchewan regarding planning and development, municipal advisory services, asset management and bylaw enforcement and animal control services.  Typically, Northbound contracts with rural municipalities and small urban municipalities, and planning districts.

THE JOB:
Northbound Planning Ltd. is wanting to enter into sub-consultant services with various building officials to assist member municipalities with providing municipal building official services. The consultant will report directly to the CEO of Northbound Planning, and member municipality Administration and Councils. Job tasks include:
1. Collaboration with planning and development staff on building official related matters that may require building inspection consultation and advice;
2. Review plans;
3. Issue permits;
4. Compliance inspections of work and occupancy;
5. Issue reports and correspondence;
6. Accept verification of compliance;
7. Review alternative solution proposals;
8. Issue variances;
9. Issue Orders;
10. Engage in enforcement action;
11. Conduct investigations;
12. Operations that may require professional engagement;
13. Site re-inspections;
14. Independent data recording and reporting;
15. Assistance in creation of municipal building bylaws, procedures and protocols; and,
16. Any other tasks that will assist municipalities to achieve compliance with municipal bylaws;
