Description

SCOPE OF DUTIES:
The role of the Economic Development Officer is to enhance economic development through the administration of programs and services that will contribute to the quality of life for MLCN membership.
The Economic Development Officer will research programs and administer policy of community business development and growth, provide training and facilitate workshops.
The Economic Development Officer will develop community resources to ensure that MLCN benefits from such relationships or enterprises.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
       The Economic Development Officer mandatory requirements are:
    Bachelors degree in Business or Public Administration or a Bachelors degree with 5 years of related work experience.
    The candidate must have basic knowledge and understanding of financial statements, budgeting processes and project managements, community and partnership communication with networking capabilities.
    A valid driver license.
    Criminal Record Clearance Check
Required Expectations
The Economic Development Officer must have knowledge and skills or work experience in the following areas:
    Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft office suite.
    Knowledge of economic funding arrangements and principles to access such funds
    Ability to develop measurable goals and objectives and evaluate projects
    Demonstrated ability of effective communication with all contacts.
    Ability to analyze data and problems.
    Demonstrate an ability to make sound and conclusive recommendations
    Knowledge of First Nations language, culture and traditions
    Ability to work with political leaders and public realities    
    Be knowledgeable of MLCN land base and financial holdings
  
SALARY:  Will be determined according to the MLCN salary and job classification scale.
