Description

The Village of Caronport, SK. is inviting experienced Police Officers to apply to serve the community as Chief of Police.  The successful applicant will accept the full responsibility to serve and protect this unique community. Caronport is the home of Briercrest Schools as well as 1000 permanent residents. The Village is situated on #1 Highway, only 15 minutes west of Moose Jaw.
  
      Applicants for this position must have at least 5 years of police experience with a fully accredited Canadian police service and have the ability to perform the full scope of general police duties including investigations, with a good understanding of federal, provincial, and bylaw enforcement, as well as maintain the administrative functions of a small police agency. Potential candidates must be mature, self-motivated, and self-directed individuals willing to be flexible and on call for extended periods of time as a resident in the village they serve. The ability to forge collegial working relationships with other police and provincial agencies is essential, along with a willingness to provide support and liaison to several schools.  This full time, 30 hour a week position offers a competitive salary and full benefits which will be negotiated with the successful applicant based on previous policing experience.  Preference given to experienced officers that are currently acceptable by the Saskatchewan Police Commission for law enforcement in Saskatchewan in accordance with the Saskatchewan Police Act.
