Description

Under the direction and guidance of the Clinic Manager, the Medical Assistant position is responsible:
- To assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician;
- Communicate with patients on the phone and in person, coordinate and organize appointments and documentation required to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment;
- Support delivery of quality patient care while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

DUTIES:
1) Assist the physicians.  
The medical assistant will:
- Prepare patients for the health care visit;
- Ensure the examining rooms have adequate supplies and notify the clinic manager when new supplies are needed;
- Manage traffic in ACCURO;
- Clean examining rooms after examinations;

2) Provide general assistance by coordinating patients, phone, fax and other communications as directed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Successful completion of grade 12 or equivalent.
- Computer proficiency.
- Previous experience in a similar type of position is considered an asset.
