Our client has a full-time permanent opportunity available for a Safety Consultant
Responsibilities
Conducting incident and near miss investigations, including follow-up corrective actions and documentation
Managing all the administrative duties for the corporate Safety Management System, such as ordering, inventory and distribution of PPE and other safety equipment
As time permits, assist the Corporate Safety Manager with safety programs and processes at other locations
In coordination with the VP of HR & Corporate Administration, become a valuable resource to Canadian managers and employees in the areas of performance management, employee onboarding, employee engagement, policy interpretation and implementation, and employee relations
Lead the recruiting process for all open positions across the Canadian locations, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, interviewing, and job offers
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary education preferred
At least two years of experience in HR and Safety
Ability to travel frequently to other sites in Canada and the US (driving/flying)
Ability to confidentially manage sensitive situations and data
