Job Description:
The Infection Control Practitioner (ICP) will be accountable for providing infection, prevention and control related services within Saskatchewan Health Authority.  The principle functions are to:
-Perform surveillance; data collection and management; data analysis and interpretation; and, communicate surveillance results
-Serves as an educator and educational resource for health care providers, support staff, patients, families and the general public to prevent and manage infections
-Participate actively in Quality Improvement activities
-Develop and maintain policies and procedures
-Recommend initiatives to improve infection prevention and control practices
-Perform research activities

Required Qualifications

Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or equivalent, or required to obtain within 3 years of employment
Bachelor Degree in a health-related field

Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria

112.00 hours per 3 week rotation: 14 shifts of 8.00 hours
