Description

The Sexual Assault Counselling Program Manager, under the direction of the Director of Operations, will primarily be responsible to coordinate and provide services to individuals through counselling, case management and consultation; provide leadership to staff for community education.
The purpose of the program is to provide community information and education about sexual assault and sexual harassment and provide supports, referrals and services to victims.

The successful candidate should have the Education and Professional Experiences of:
  A Bachelor of Social Work, a degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of work experience and education that is acceptable to the Board of Directors
  Certifications or licenses appropriate to industry
  Certifications and licensing with appropriate regulatory bodies such as SASW
  Valid driver's license and access to a personal motor vehicle for transportation of clients
  A clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check from RCMP
  A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' experience counselling with children, youth and adults
  Experience with coaching and employee development

And the assets and abilities:
  A thorough understanding of Sexual Abuse and issues surrounding survivors
  Strong counselling skills and clarity of Social Work ethics and values
  An understanding of child development, abuse and protection
  A good understanding of the impacts of residential school and current First Nations social issues
  An understanding or sound knowledge of Indigenous cultural protocols and practices
  Good oral and written communication skills
  Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, and execution skills
  Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation of employees
  A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations
