Description

Working with an inter-disciplinary team the Resolution Health Support Worker is responsible to provide emotional, spiritual, physical and mental support to Indian Residential School Survivors, their families and communities through programming and case management.

Responsibilities:
Emotional support services to Former IRS Students and their family members, when and where required, paying particular attention to those individuals in crisis and those attending IAP proceedings, IRS dispute resolution process and IRS court hearings over a wide geographic area.

Provide case management with Former IRS Students and their families with development of and follow through of case plans and thorough documentation.

Work with a team to organize programs, services and events for former IRS Students and their family members to promote healing and wellness.

Maintain and report on program stats and outcomes.

Qualifications:
Education is preferred, not required.

Experience working with Indigenous mental health and wellness issues.

Knowledge and understanding of First Nations language, culture, traditions and social issues, Indian Residential Schools and the impact on individuals and families and knowledge and skills in healing methodologies.

High level of skill with and knowledge of casework practice.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

Ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously.

Must be willing to travel and must possess a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle and must submit a current vulnerable sector criminal record check.
