The Carrot River Medical Clinic operates as a primary healthcare practice where the physician provides services for approximately 1,000 people within the community plus surrounding area.
Job Duties:
Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures, Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health, Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, Provide pre-natal and post-natal care, Advise patients on health care, Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities, Communicate health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention to patients, Perform patient advocacy role, Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues, Provide emergency care, Participate on institutional committees.
Work Setting: Carrot River Medical Clinic: 102-1st Avenue (Box 160) Carrot River, SK S0E 0L0/ Nipawin Hospital: 800 6th St. East Nipawin, SK S0E 1E0 (Emergency Room)/ Arborfield Special Care Lodge: 5th Avenue (Box 160) Arborfield, SK S0E 0A0 (Satellite Clinic 1/month)
Job Requirements
Languages: English
Education: Degree in Medicine, Completed Family Medicine Residency Training Program
Experience: No experience required, but considered an asset
Security & Safety: Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage, A valid Saskatchewan driver's license, Criminal Record Check
Credentials: Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan
Salary Details: As per the Saskatchewan Primary Health Care contract pay grid (Level 1: $301,517 annually (subject to change)).
