Melfort, is nestled in the heart of Saskatchewans great North-East, a land dominated by soil rich farmland and a variety of forests, lakes and beaches. At a population of approx. 6,000, Melfort offers a refuge from excessive crime, traffic tie-ups, and stress.
Job Duties: Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures, Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health, Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, Perform and assist in routine surgery, Deliver babies and provide pre-natal and post-natal care, Advise patients on health care, Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities, Communicate health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention to patients, Perform patient advocacy role, Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues, Provide emergency care, Participate on institutional committees.
Work Setting: Family Physicians Group: 312 Stovel Ave. W. Melfort, SK/ Naicam Medical Clinic: 302-2nd Ave. N Naicam, SK (1 day per week (Monday))/ Melfort Hospital: 510 Broadway Avenue Melfort, SK
Job Requirements
Languages: English
Education: Degree in Medicine, Completed Family Medicine Residency Training Program
Experience: No experience required, but considered an asset
Security & Safety: Current Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage, A valid Saskatchewan driver's license, Criminal Record Check
Credentials: Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan
Salary Details:Fee For Service/ Naicam Clinic Day is an hourly rate (Sessional Contract)
