DEPARTMENT/AREA OVERVIEW:

Roots Kitchen and Bar is licensed Restaurant providing meals for Harbour Landing Village facility. We are currently open for take-out 7 days a week. We are also open to our residents that live in Harbour Landing Village. This includes:
- Specific menus for Respite Care and Independent Living.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

As a server at Harbour Landing Village, youll be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our customers experiences.

Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages. You need to be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude. If you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced workplace, wed like to meet you.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

- Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order, as per health code
- Attend to customers upon entrance
- Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages
- Maintaining SLGA regulations during service of alcoholic drinks
- Take and serve orders
- Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products
- Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/barstaff
- Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
- Issue bills and accept payment

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

- The flexibility and willingness to learn.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Organized with strong attention to detail.
- Friendly personality with a positive attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Serve it Right Certificate.
WHMIS Certification
Customer Service experience

EXPECTATIONS:

- Maintain employee and customer confidentiality.
- Maintains professional, supportive and responsive interpersonal communication skills.
- Maintain regular training of new menus.
- Flexible availability.
