Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director is responsible for the planning, development, general/financial management and leadership of the Public Works & Engineering department involving a combined budget of approximately $10,000,000, comprising of divisions of Engineering, Roads & Sidewalks, Repair & Maintenance, Water & Sewer, Waste Management, Mechanics, and Municipal Airport.
The Director shall be responsible for the overall efficient and effective financial, technical, health & safety management of the departments, as well provide leadership and strategic direction that will align resources to achieve results, implement and manage change as necessary, and ensure respective services are delivered consistent with applicable legislation, bylaws, policies, and procedures.
The ideal candidate shall possess a post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline and 5 years experience as a Professional Engineer. Level 2 certification in water treatment and distribution and wastewater treatment and collection is preferred. Equivalent combinations of educational qualifications and experience will be considered on an individual basis.
