Description

The Kahkewistahaw Family Connections Manager will provide an alternate approach to the well-being of the child, the family and the community that is based on the foundations of First Nations values and beliefs. Providing information about Kahkewistahaw First Nation and its resources for the inclusion of the family and the child in the community.  In collaboration with the Kahkewistahaw Family Support Committee and Community Resources, the support of family, the Family Connections Manager will network with the programs and services locally, provincially and nationally. The ultimate goal will be to reduce the number of Child Protection Intakes and the repatriation of children in care in other jurisdictions as well as the reunification of children and families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Four (4) year University undergraduate degree in Social Work or related discipline
OR
Certificate in Social Work or Guidance and Counseling with 12 months direct experience OR
2 years of experience in working in the Human Services Area.
Experience or knowledge of child and family service programming.
Demonstrated Experience in positive relationship building.
A valid Saskatchewan Drivers License free from any restrictions and a reliable vehicle.
A current Vulnerable Sector Check and the Child Abuse History Check.
Current Drug Screen Results certified by a Member of Good Standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons or a reputable Certified Health Lab.
Must possess excellent communication skills (oral and written)
