The Community Health Nurse (CHN) will provide general community health nursing services to residents of Carry the Kettles Assiniboine Reserve. The CHN is required to be knowledgeable and skillful in the nursing process as it relates to health education, promotion, treatment and preventive services. It is required to be professionally trained, a registered member of the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association and, as such, to be knowledgeable and skillful in the nursing process as it relates to health education, health promotion, minor treatment and preventive services.
The principal responsibilities of the CHN is that nursing advice and support is provided to mothers and families and their prenatal and postnatal infants and that that communicable disease prevention and control responsibilities are carried in a fashion that meets CTK CHS, FNIH and Provincial reporting requirements.
The CHN will provide relevant professional advice to all health staff employed by CTKCHS, and will consult and share information and advice with the Home Care Nurse.
The Community Health Nurse will work as part of the Carry The Kettle First Nation Health team to provide and develop the Health Policy; Works closely with CAC, Health Canada; Board and Governing Body; Networks with NIHB.
