Canadian Mental Health Assoc. (Sask.Div.)invites applications for a temporary part-time (20 hrs/week)Vocational/Recreational Development Worker in our Weyburn Branch.

The Worker is responsible for:
Providing structured services for & in consultation with clients, consisting of one or more of the following areas: social, recreation, employment, training-on-the-job, vocational training, life skills or related support activities, in a community service centre &/or other community facility, with the goal of assisting clients to independently maximize community services and resources.

Utilizing community and volunteer resource to plan and carry out recreating activities, in a centre-based setting, that will assist the consumer in learning/acquiring social skills and proper time management.

The continued development and work with a NEW Tablet Learning program. Programming and services with participants both individually and in groups. This program will also include facilitating the general use of Tablets, and keeping statistics.

This position requires flexibility within its responsibilities as the needs of our organization may change. The successful candidate will be supporting both vocational programs with providing supervision and assistance to our vocational work crew, as well as our vocational meal program. Including but not limited to:
Assisting with community and contractual jobs, assisting with meal preparation, some heavy lifting required.

Position requires completion of some post-secondary training in the social sciences and significant experience in a human services field; preferably the mental health field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training. A good knowledge of community resources, effective organizational, public relations and communication skills are essential. The successful candidate must have a driver's license and will be required to provide a clean Criminal Record Check.
