Our client, SARM is the independent association representing rural municipalities to all levels of senior government. SARM works with, promotes, advocates, and supports rural municipalities.
The Manager, Policy & Research is responsible for the oversight of all resolutions, research, analysis, and the development and preparation of related documents and proposals. This role will also evaluate the effectiveness of existing government policies and programs and draft policy related correspondence, as well as attend meetings as required, while supporting the Board and the Executive Director.
Management Oversight
Oversee work being done by Department Staff;
Develop and gain approval of expenditure budgets for Department projects;
Develop policies and procedures for the Department;
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Department and suggest changes as needed
Participate in committees as directed by the Executive Director; and maintain relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including local, provincial, and federal government representatives.
The Manager, Policy & Research should possess a degree in political science, public policy, social science, or a related field, along with 3 years or more of relevant experience. Other desirable skills include:
