Job Description: The position participates in population health promotion, prevention and control strategies for the Population Health Unit, and supports and coordinates the work of the Northern Healthy Community Partnership. This health educator works closely with other staff within the Unit, such as the dental health educator, public health nutritionist, and Medical Health Officers. The Population Health Promotion Coordinator works collaboratively with the health authority managers and staff of Saskatchewan Health Authority; the Ministry of Health; First Nations agencies; and partners from other sectors.
Coordinates the work of the Northern Healthy Community Partnership, organizing meetings and workshops, providing orientation to team co-chairs, and supporting team development and work
Participates in population health promotion, prevention and control projects with the northern Population Health Unit team and northern health authority managers and staff; participates in program evaluation
Communicates with the public and other health care stakeholders on issues and successes related to population health promotion
Works with the Manager of the Population Health Unit and the Medical Health Officers to seek funding and support for population health promotion projects when required
Fosters intersectoral collaboration that aims to enhance the health of the northern Saskatchewan population
Monitors the budget for the Northern Healthy Community Partnership, based on guidelines from the NHCP Core Group
Participates in preparing funding and project proposals and summary reports
Maintains a high standard of knowledge in population health promotion and community development
