Description

The Quality Assurance Assistant is responsible for overall monitoring of facility, employees, production, and maintenance activities to ensure food safety and quality standards are being met.

The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge of Food Science or related field, combined with Quality Assurance experience in a food operations or manufacturing environment. This candidate will also have strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and can organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Knowledge of continuous improvement, HACCP, GMP/GOPs, federal/provincial food regulations, as well as health and safety will be distinct assets.

The general responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
Strong knowledge of HAACP, Food Safety standards, and pre-requisites.
Maintain the Document Management Center in an organized and clutter free manner.
Administer, archive and maintain documents and electronic records such as, GOPs, SOPs, registries, logs, Master Forms, Technical and Regulatory Documents etc.
Prioritize and fulfil requests for documents and data, support and maintain relevant databases as per customer requirements and regulatory standards.
Revise documents such as SOPs and GOPs pertaining to area of responsibility and for Internal audit purposes.
On-site monitoring and enforcement of GOPs, preventive maintenance, proper sanitation, and housekeeping procedures.
Manage supplier approval programs for non-input product and materials.
Maintains a working knowledge of the all processes, tests and equipment, and general operations.
Lead projects and performs other related duties as required.
