Description

The Jordans Principle Mentor is responsible for all phases of client casework, home visits.  Face to face, case review and case conferences. Maintaining a high level of communication with all involved. Lead or coordinate support group, if warranted, maintain contact notes, monthly reports and electronic records as required.
Model child management and parenting skills, establish boundaries, consequ4ences and a safe age-relevant environment. Provide support, problem-solving techniques, crisis intervention, and living skills. Help young males to set realistic goals, intervene in crisis situations, and model problem-solving techniques. Help young males and their family deal with everyday needs, including health, safety, nutrition, budgeting and housing. Help young males obtain services to meet their needs, teach and encourage self-sufficiency. Use activity programming for behaviour modification and incentive purposes. Provide an appropriate role model for Nakoda youth and land base teachings. By modeling behaviour, show respect for and commitment to the values and standards of the Carry the Kettle Nakoda community. Maintain administrative records, such as time sheets, expense records. Be responsible to the Program Manager for regular supervision, case review and integrates Service team meetings. Be aware of trends and concerns, arising from his/her casework, which may affect service delivery, programs or Carry the Kettle Nakoda Community.

Acting as a Liaison between the Community Wellness Jurisdiction Initiative program and other agencies or government services. Prepare and give public presentations to the community, government and other agencies. Attend community conferences, workshops, staff meetings and other related meetings as required. Attend training (inhouse and external) as required. To work cooperatively with other staff and be sensitive to client needs. Carry out other duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or the Director of Operations.
