DESCRIPTION
Shift work may be required. The position of Media blaster includes, but is not limited to, removing dirt, rust, scale and paint from metal equipment and components using media blasting equipment.
Job Duties
Clean and refurbish metal and industrial equipment using media blasting equipment
Abrade surfaces of metal/hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment
Shovel or pour abrasives, such as shot of specified grade into machine hopper
Mask specified areas of object to protect from abrading action
Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met
Follow company policy and procedures and government legislation, including adherence to proper health and safety standards and use of personal protective equipment.
Ensure that process is completed within set timeframe ensuring daily production targets are met or exceeded
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
1 year experience in a similar position
Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Able to work well under pressure
Strong attention to detail
Able to interact with coworkers tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
Work Conditions
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Repetitive light physical effort (bending, reaching, carrying light items, walking, standing)
Repetitive heavy physical effort (carrying, lifting, or pushing)
Occasional multi-tasking required.
Work requires a hi level attention to detail
Occasional peak periods requiring an accelerated work pace over which you have no control, or deadlines creating pressure
Overtime as required.
