Description

The Saskatoon Trades and Skills Centre (STSC) is non-profit labour market supply organization that offers short skills courses designed to enable students to enter the labour market. This position will be responsible for instructing essential skills and one-on-one student support.

Term Position - Starts Dec 1st, 2020 till Aug 31st, 2021

Duties:
- Class instruction delivery
- Development and maintenance of course material
- Assess Labour Market Needs
- Student recruitment and selection
- Student support services and job search support
- Liaise with employers & community partners
- Arrange, Follow-up and Supervise work placements
- May require to transport students
- Maintain computer records and provide monthly reports
- Participate in program development & student selection
- Student follow up, administrative duties, occasionally transport students
- Perform all other duties in accord with the vision and mandate of STSC as directed by the Program Manager or the Executive Director

Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree (Masters Degree would be an Asset)
- Experience in an instructor role and in a client support
- Clear Criminal Record Check & Valid Driver's License

Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of classroom instruction methods and ability to deliver material in an engaging manner
- Sensitivity to a wide range of cultures; knowledge of Indigenous cultures and traditions
- Willingness to participate in train-the-trainer courses
- Knowledge of available support services in Saskatoon
- Familiarity with trades and apprenticeship opportunities in Saskatchewan
- Able to work independently or as part of a team; ability to prioritize and multitask; communication skills
- Able to use Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to occasionally work flexible hours
