Description

ADHD Coach/Academic Strategists create a safe environment that encourages honest and open communication. They deliver individual training in areas such as organization, comprehension, study skills, and coping skills while working with the students to incorporate a learning style suitable to their unique needs. Coaches provide learning strategy appointments, tutoring, and act as a resource in providing specific information and strategies related to ADHD and other learning challenges.

Coaches also work with clients to develop skills in resiliency, self-awareness, and emotional regulation. Ultimately, coaching can help a client with motivation, organization, academics, and other life skills that encourage them to succeed.

The ideal candidates will possess a Bachelors Degree in Education, Social Work or related discipline, and have experience working with children, teenagers and adults. Certification as a Teacher, Learning Disability Specialist, or Learning Assistance Teacher would be considered an asset. Psychology students will also be considered. Any training in Developmental, Educational or Abnormal Psychology will be considered an asset.

-Relevant Post-Secondary education in Human Services and/or two years related experience.
-Knowledge of ADHD Coaching strategies.
-Proficient in using diverse computer programs and applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, Office and Databases.
-Knowledge of Supportive Technologies.
-Able to support clients using Zoom or related technology.
-Knowledge and understanding of issues pertaining to challenges that people with Learning Disabilities and ADHD may encounter.
-Knowledge of business demands and employer expectations in a variety of work settings.
-Ability to express and formulate ideas and information in a clear and concise manner in verbal and written form.
-Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a reliable vehicle.

Part-time hours, with the potential to become full time.
