Description

Perform general accounting activities by supporting the analysis and preparation of financial reports and statements. Perform detailed accounting procedures, evaluating and assessing the co-operatives controls, processes, and procedures and provide senior team members with recommendations on the analysis/testing performed.
Assist in preparing and analyzing actual monthly, quarterly, and year-end consolidated financial statements and other reports with oversight from more senior team members.
Analyze and reconcile financial reporting discrepancies with support from more senior team members and ensures compliance with financial transaction recording standards.
Assist in reviewing accuracy of financial statements ensuring they are in accordance with accounting standards.
Provide input on financial controls to enhance related policies, procedures, and processes.
Assist in analyzing impact of new accounting standards, reporting requirements, and regulatory standards and new transactions.
Support the planning, preparation, and documentation for the auditing process, including gathering documentation.
Perform various general accounting activities such as reconciliations, journal entries and coding of invoices.
Provide support and back up to both Team Members and Team Leaders on general administration and accounting activities.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
Planning to work towards a CPA designation or currently enrolled
Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of ethical business practices and associated regulations
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated
Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven team player who is both flexible and adaptable
High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
