The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) protects consumer and the public interest and supports economic well-being through responsive marketplace regulation. The Securities Division of the FCAA regulates the sale of securities in the province to protect investors through registration, disclosure, audits, complaint handling, and enforcement activities.
The Securities Division of FCAA is seeking a lawyer with a strong interest in securities and derivatives regulation for a 1-year term opportunity. This position will:
- Provide legal services and advice to staff in the Securities division;
- Conduct administrative hearings before hearing panels of the FCAA; and
- Attend court as required.
Your practice will also extend to all subject areas that touch upon the mandate of the Securities Division and include advising on legal and policy issues relating to securities and derivatives regulation.
To qualify for this position, you must have a university degree in law and membership in the Law Society of Saskatchewan. A finance, commerce or business administration degree would also be an asset.
