ELECTRICAL ENGINEER IN TRAINING
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform complex electrical analysis and design
- Complete electrical system modeling and analysis including arc flash analysis
- Conduct protection evaluation/coordination
- Perform short circuit calculations/equipment evaluation
- Complete load flow and harmonics analysis
- Potentially manage the installation and commissioning of new projects
- Troubleshoot problems and develop practical solutions to correct deficiencies in electrical systems
- Join fieldwork initiatives with technical services in various locations including the U.S. to perform electrical testing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent program
- Eligible for registration with APEGS as an Engineer-In-Training
- Minimum 2 years experience in either design or operation of industrial/utility electrical power systems
- Understanding of industrial/utility protection and relay system
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Knowledge of AutoCAD would be an asset
- Experience with power system software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower)
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (CEC, IEEE1584)
- Must possess a valid driver's license and clean abstract as fieldwork will be a requirement of this position
- Canadian passport is required as some travel is necessary
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
