HJR is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate has experience in road construction, is detailed orientated, and is self-motivated with the ability to work well in a team environment with a variety of personnel.
Qualifications
-Degree in Civil Engineering
-General understanding of Quality Assurance/Quality Control as well as OH&S practices/requirements
-Minimum of 2 years experience with the design and construction of roads in the Canadian Prairie Region
-Experience with materials testing equipment
-Experience with surveying
-Positive attitude and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
-Must be available to travel and work on project sites throughout Saskatchewan
-Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Duties and Responsibilities
-Ensure safety is top priority
-Work with senior management and staff to effectively manage people and equipment
-Communicate effectively with consultants, health & safety auditors and Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure staff as needed
-Review and analyze the project contracts and deliverables
-Take part in bidding on projects
-Prioritize operations and fulfill contract requirements
-Maintain schedule, ensure cost effectiveness and track project to meet budget goals
-Provide support and guidance to the onsite Foreman and field staff
-Provide quality control and quality assurance on a variety of projects including aggregate production, asphalt, and field density programs
