The ideal candidate for this position will have both sales and marketing experience. The SPM will have an understanding of cloud distribution and related technologies, as well as experience in developing sales solutions. The ability to present to both partners and the company at a high level with confidence, and to adapt & learn quickly is essential in this fast-moving business environment. Succeeding in this role involves creating a balance between partnership strategy, marketing strategy, and business development
Responsibilities
Prospect and build a qualified pipeline of strategic vendors by gaining a deep understanding of the landscape and develop a strategy for prioritizing ideal potential partners
Be responsible for pitching to potential vendors
Work with multiple teams across the organization including marketing, product and legal, to oversee successful execution of strategic partnerships
Draft proposals and be responsible for signing new vendors
Establish an evaluation framework for the selection and prioritization of new vendors and KPIs to measure success
Support Director of Vendor Management and vendor operations in developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with vendors.
Qualifications
Business development and large-scale partner management experience
Motivated and energetic self-starter who can operate with minimal oversight
Possesses understanding of the competitive landscape and an ability to navigate an industry that is constantly evolving with a high degree of ambiguity (understanding of the Cloud / Cloud distributor space an asset)
Strong analytical skills, strategic thinker and creative problem solver
Very strong negotiation skills
Excellent written & oral communication skills; outstanding presentation skills
5+ years of experience in a similar role
7+ years of experience in a high-performing environment with a track record of excellence
