Technologist, Technical Maintenance (Temporary - 12 months)
Water Security Agency currently owns, maintains and operates 72 dams and related canals throughout Saskatchewan that supply the majority of the provinces drinking water, help reduce flood damage, and supply water for irrigation and industrial needs. We are searching for an enthusiastic individual to join a team of technical and professional staff performing this important work.
As a member of the team in this role you will provide engineering technology expertise and support for a variety of activities directly related to the WSAs geotechnical and dam safety programs including: conducting surveys, inspections and data collection for the project works, assistance with the administration and maintenance of geotechnical databases, assisting in the administration of professional services agreements, and the preparation of manuals, plans and other documentation. In addition, this employee will assist with select operational activities at Gardiner dam as well as on-site engineering technology expertise and support in the planning and coordination of the on-site technical program for some other WSA structures in the province.
You will work among a diverse and passionate team of professionals, both internal and external to Water Security Agency, in the fields of engineering, water quality, ecology, law, sociology, public policy and local governments that are leading this exciting challenge in our province.
The successful candidate should possess a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a similar technical discipline, and will have, or immediately obtain and maintain certification with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan (formerly SASTT) as an Applied Science Technologist (A.Sc.T.).
