Description

Position and Responsibilities
Cameco is looking for a well-rounded and motivated individual to join our mine engineering team at the Cigar Lake operation in northern Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the senior mine engineer, you will be responsible for several duties required in the technician role within the mine engineering department.  You will be responsible for the preparation of mine layouts, data transfer to as-built drawings and proper filing of drawings and associated documents.  You will be required to draft and design for all aspects of mine design, mine ventilation monitoring, data collection and monitoring instrumentation while ensuring quality work is being produced in a safe and efficient manner. You will conduct underground surveys and inspections as well as and update and maintain mine schedule while tracking performance and costs.

This is a temporary position.

Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
    Technical diploma in mining or related field
    Three to six years of relevant work experience
    Experience in an underground mine environment
    Experience drafting with Vulcan/AutoCAD
    Fully proficient in surveying
    Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
    Strong communication, leadership, planning and problem solving skills
    Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
    Experience working in a uranium mine and with concrete testing will be considered an asset
