Description

The Ministry of Justice has a career opportunity for a highly motivated, innovative and team focused individual who has strong leadership capabilities for the position of Local Registrar/Sheriff/Manager, Provincial Court in Estevan. As the Local Registrar and Manager of Provincial Court, you will manage the daily operations of both the Court of Queens Bench and Provincial Court and ensure quality service to its clients and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Director of Court Operations (South) and as a member of an integrated management team, the successful candidate will ensure that all legal and administrative requirements are met in a timely manner, including: acting as trial coordinator with respect to matters heard at the Estevan Judicial Center; assessing bills of costs and share in the performance of registry functions including the issuance and/or receipt of court documents, and collecting and accounting for funds and fees received by the courts; providing guidance to the public and legal professionals on court processes; as the Sheriff and working with the Regional Sheriff Office South, you will oversee the jury management for all jury trials occurring within the Estevan Jury Selection Area and ensure the public has access to the Sheriff Office in Estevan for the purpose of dropping off documents to be forwarded to the appropriate Sheriffs Office; ensuring staff are knowledgeable and trained on the Rules of Court, court related legislation, policy and procedures; and operating, navigating and providing support to employees on various computer applications and data management systems.
