Job Description: The Clinical Coordinator, under the direction of the Manager, is responsible for the daily operations, organization and functioning of the unit.  The incumbent coordinates and evaluates human and material resources to ensure provision of quality patient care.  The incumbent promotes and monitors quality nursing care by assisting with the establishment and maintenance of nursing care standards, policies and procedures and by participating in quality improvement and research activities.  The coordinator assists with identifying educational needs of the staff, orientation and education, and evaluation of the progress of staff development.  The incumbent functions as a role model and clinical resource for nursing staff and all member of the multidisciplinary team on issues affecting patients.  The incumbent acts as an advocate for patient/family and staff/physicians.  The coordinator provides direct patient care as required.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Current CPR Certification
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years recent acute care nursing experience, three (3) of which must be in the specific clinical area and/or involve charge nurse or coordination experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of leadership strategies in order to lead, encourage, advise and cooperate with colleagues to promote and maintain positive relationships, to achieve patient/resident/client team and organizational goals within available resources.
Knowledge of communication techniques and approaches in order to adapt to multiple and ever changing situations and environments
