Description

Due to a regularly scheduled absence of the incumbent, Horizon School Division invites applications for an experienced, progressive, and skilled individual to assume the duties of a Temporary Superintendent of Finance Services/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a term of up to 15 months.

The Division
The Horizon School Division office is located approximately 100 km east of Saskatoon, in the thriving community of Humboldt, SK. The Division serves approximately 6,500 students in 43 schools located in 32 communities. This progressive Board is known for its strong support for small schools, effective professional development, high teacher engagement, innovative approaches and sound fiscal management. The Division operating budget for 2020-21 is $86 million.

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Education/CEO, Horizon School Division is seeking an effective strategic thinker with excellent supervisory, evaluative, financial, interpersonal and communication skills. The CFO is responsible for all functions related to budget preparation and monitoring, financial analysis and reporting, enterprise risk management, internal control design and oversight, accounting, and LAFOIP. The CFO also serves as the corporate secretary to the Board of Education. The successful candidate will provide strong leadership in the area of fiscal responsibility and plays a critical role in development and implementation of the financial strategies of the school division.
