On behalf of our client, Visionpool Business Services is hiring a Senior Payroll & Benefits Consultant
Responsibilities:
Manage payroll for in-scope and management staff
Manage benefit plans by reporting new enrollments, respond to inquiries and educates staff on the plans
Interpret and apply collective agreements and a provide advice and consultant action to managers and supervisors
Support Collective Agreement negotiations by preparing various working papers and
projections and by identifying areas of the contract(s) which may require modification
Maintain the confidential employment files for all in-scope and management staff
Prepare payroll and wages payable GL entries, including all year-end payable entries.
Reconcile salary and all payroll related accounts
Develop and prepares various reports for use by HR, management and regulatory agencies,
including WCB, CCRA, OSFI and HRDC
Prepare T4's, T4 summaries, and all working papers necessary for year-end reporting
Prepare Workers Compensation claims, records of employment, employment verifications and
other payroll-related documents
Organize and administer various payroll program
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years full cycle payroll experience including month end reconciliation and journal entries
Accounting experience would be considered an asset
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) and Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designations would be considered an asset
Experience in a Unionized environment would be considered an asset
