Facility: Buffalo Narrows Health Centre
Job Description: As a member of the SHA (Keewatin) EMS system the EMT-P (ACP) reports to the EMS Manager for their area.  The EMT-P (ACP) will deliver Emergency Medical Services with strict adherence to the Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations, Saskatchewan College of Paramedics Treatment Protocols and Saskatchewan Health Authority policies, procedures and protocols.

The EMT-P (ACP) will respond to calls for service as per dispatch instructions, providing assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons.  The EMT-P (ACP) will cover standby assignment, as operations require.

The EMT-P (ACP) will function as a part of the Primary Health Care Team for the effective delivery of Primary Health Care Services as required.

Required Qualifications

Valid Class 4 drivers license
CPR/AED Provider Certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Life Support for Care Givers (BLS-HCP)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the ACP/EMT-P level
International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) - Basic
Experience
Current  EMT-P (ACP) certification
Current licensure with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics as an EMT-P (ACP)
Good knowledge of legislation, protocols and scope of practice as applicable to EMS in the Province of Saskatchewan.
The ability and willingness to work independently with little supervision.
Flexible and adaptable to changing workload
Must demonstrate empathy, concern and interest in providing quality care for patients
Physically fit and able to perform required duties
