Description

The Western Development Museum Corporate Office and Western Development Museum - Saskatoon are seeking a Maintenance Technician.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the WDMs Corporate Office and WDM Saskatoon facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard.

Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring both Saskatoon facilities are maintained through regular inspections and maintenance schedules including maintaining the buildings boiler and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshooting and repairing issues with the building structure, plumbing, lighting, heating, refrigeration, and electrical systems as well as overall general upkeep.
- Assisting with outdoor maintenance including lawn mowing and snow removal.
- Ensuring equipment and vehicles are maintained and in good working order.

The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems and general workshop procedures.
- Have a current Firemans Certificate (5th Class Power Engineer would be an asset).
- Be comfortable working with a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
- Have a physical condition adequate for accomplishing all responsibilities including; ability to lift between 16 kg (35 lbs) and 23 kg (50 lbs) and move up to 45 kg (100 lbs); and, to negotiate
stairs or ladders, awkward spaces, and work safely at heights.
- Be able to work willingly as a team member in a collaborative environment with many people.
- Be a strong communicator - both orally and in writing.
- Have or be willing to obtain certificates for forklift, skid steer and fall protection, First Aid, and CPR.
- Have a Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license.
