Description

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Judicial Programs, or her designate, the Reintegration Housing Caseworker will provide services to newly released incarcerated individuals with support to access and obtain transitional and long term housing, assist with case management and service delivery under Reintegration programs.

Duties:
- Assist in providing life skills development
- Provide crisis intervention and behavioral support for high risk clients
- Assist in case management and support for clients
- Provide institutional support, work in partnership with Correctional Staff within the Correctional Facilities
- Provide risk relapse prevention programming,
Role model positive behavior and encourage, and assist clients to practice self-help and non-violent problem solving skills, daily
- Ability to provide effective and accurate written documentation (ex: case management notes, incident reports, etc.)
- Ensure the services being provided are risk reductive, individual, integrated, and client orientated
- Assist in developing and maintaining risk reductive and emergency response plans and personal safety plans with individual clients
- Maintain confidentiality
- Perform other related duties as assigned/needed

Qualifications:
- University Bachelors degree in the Human Services sector
- Min. 1 year work experience with outreach to individuals involved in the justice system
- Min. 1 year  work experience in program facilitation with individuals involved in the justice system
- Compliance with the designated Risk Management policies of the National John Howard Society
- First Aid and CPR
- Choice Theory or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy training
- Motivational Interviewing training
- Tipi Teachings, Medicine Wheel Teachings or other First Nations Cultural training
- A valid drivers license/ Reliable Vehicle
- Clean Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector check
