The Home Health Aide Worker is responsible for assisting individuals with home management, personal care and social recreational needs. The Home Health Aide Worker assists individuals with activities of daily living, performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner and maintains a clean and orderly environment. The Home Health Aide Worker supports and encourages clients and their families to remain independent in their home for as long as possible.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assisting clients with activities of daily living and personal care as assigned and supervised by Home and Community Care Registered Nurse Assessor/Hospital Liaison
Provide home-management assistance using universal infection control
Use communication skills to give good client care
Keeping all confidential information under lock and key
Communicating and cooperating with other health personnel
Accurate daily record keeping
Working with and participating as a team
Flexible work hours from time to time
Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications:
Home Health Aide Certificate
CPR Certification
Accurate Record Keeping, Tracking and Filing
Strong Communication Skills
Must be physically fit, able to perform all duties such as lifting and turning
Experience working with or Knowledge and Understanding of the First Nation Community
Excellent reading, oral and written communication skills
Valid Drivers License
3rd Party Liability Insurance (if own vehicle is used)
Criminal Record Check

Home Health Aide unfamiliar with a certain role is legally responsible to bring this to the attention of HHA RN Assess/Hospital Liaison to report direction, further training and/or supervision while performing the unfamiliar task
