MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Major duties and responsibilities of the Information Technician include (but are not limited to):
Install and set up the new technology
Deliver technology training to staff, as required ;
Support the staff in the use of the technology ;
Troubleshoot problems encountered by staff;
Create a system to identify and log problems encountered with the new existing technology, including the action taken to resolve the problem (this can include issues with hardware, software, networks, connectivity, etc.);
Ensure back-up systems are properly designed and implemented;
Maintain accurate records related to the new and existing technology, including: o Ensure all hardware and equipment is labelled/identified as to ownership;
o Create and maintain a complete list of technology, including hardware, peripherals, etc.; and
o Maintain adequate document at ion related to networks and connectivity.
Create a user-friendly instruction manual for the new technology for future new users (e.g. for example , this could be the user manual which accompanies the new technology augmented by frequently asked questions);
Participate in staff meetings, workshops, etc. as directed;
Participate in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting as directed;
Develop and maintain effective working relationships;
Contribute to the team through sharing thoughts, ideas, and knowledge that may improve the quality of service delivery and success of plans ;
Maintain confidentiality; and
Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Appropriate and adequate training and experience;
Beneficial personal attributes;
Current Criminal Record check (CPIC) and Vulnerable Sector Search must be provided;
Reliable transportation and possess a valid driver's license; and
Other, as identified by the First Nation.
Ability to speak or understand the First Nation Language would be an asset;
